Why You Should Date A Geek

by Unallocated Author

What makes a “geek“?

  • Well, they have an extraordinary devotion to a particular interest and that’s one of the nicer definitions.
  • Since it was used interchangeably with “nerd”, which is still not very desirable in today’s standards
  • Most online users won’t mind the term now.

Here are 20 good reasons why you should consider giving geeks a chance since they are…

1. Able To Pay Attention To Details

Given their idea on what they love and their intelligence, geeks are very attentive to small details. Were this makes them sensitive in matters of the heart.

One of their best skills is that they remember important days such as your birthdays and anniversaries, because nothing gets past them.

2. Accepting

They don’t give much important’s on how well you dress, in fact that geeks themselves don’t put an excess of attention on their appearance as well! In that sense, you can dress  as your wish.

Geeks are the ones who stay true to who they are and what they love, so they are less likely to judge you harshly for being yourself as a unique individual.

3. Appreciative

By spending most of their life between social circles and picked on by bullies, geeks naturally appreciate the fact that you’ve chose them as their significant other. They are always special and grateful in the way you see him what other don’t.

When we’re seeing someone, most likely need the other party to be keen to us and not underestimate us, so this is without a doubt a win-win relationship.

4. Authentic People

Geeks are true to themselves. They are not so popular and they really don’t sell themselves out for being approved by others. They take after what they adore with energy and commitment.

They can also inspire you to stay true to who you are. Dating a geek makes you a more courageous person.

5. Becoming More Popular

Mark Zuckerberg,  Bill GatesSteve Jobs, etc are the top geeks. There will be more. Who knows if the geek you are dating now is the next biggest tech headline of the century?

6. Committed

To be a geek, you have to be control with something to qualify. Despite of what geeks are obsessed with, you can’t ignore that their level of loyalty exceeds beyond the extraordinary.

7. Intelligent

Geeks are intelligent people who know stuff, inside out. When they don’t know, they are quick to learn. They’ve adopted such a mentality when they are young and thus amassed with such a great amount of information inside their mind, all prepared to impart to others.

8. Introspective

Geeks are thinkers. You will have the most engaging and enlightening conversations with them that is ever-expanding, every-changing because they never stop learning.

Geeks will make you learn to love them and their eventually and obsessions , they’ll convert you to love what they love.

9. Keen Learners

The inquisitive mind of geeks is probably one of the things that set them apart from the rest of us. They are always keen to learn new things.

When they are faced problems they really do not no how to handle but they learn and adapt. As such, being with a geek is to be with someone who doesn’t just quit when the going gets tough, they learn and become more adapt at it.

10. Not Crazy Over Sports

Many people like sport but not geeks they don’t like as much as others. Given their  passion for more intellectual and natural flair and tech-related stuff, it’s not surprisingly to find that they devote lesser time to sports in their early years.

This is great news for ladies since they don’t have to tolerate an all-guys sports night or complain about your husband or boyfriend disappearing on you when a sports tournament is playing.

11. Not Keen On Mind Games

Geeks like things to be straightforward and logical, especially when it comes to the seemingly elusive world of dating. Guessing games and Hidden messages are not high on their list of things to care about.

As a result, they are more forthcoming when socializing and expect others to do the same as well. Why waste time guessing when you can come right out and say it.

12. Passionate

See the way geeks adore their superhero action figures, and how much time they can spent building their collection, reading about their programming language or rewatching their favorite fantasy movies?

They are a passionate bunch who would give all their time and effort to the thing that has captured their hearts.

13. Patient

The amount of patience they have is unmatched. How else can they spent months leveling-up their RPG characters, knowing every detail of their backstory or plotting the best way to take down the final boss?

And when they are done, they go at it again! If that isn’t character-building, I’m not sure what is.

14. Perfectionists

Geeks are perfectionistas; they do research, before they  asking questions. And you can see that once they are committed, they find the best solution to any kind of problem.

They’d probably be better at answering, “you know what your problem is?” than you are, ending any possible argument before they are even started.

15. Problem-Solvers

Geeks love to solve problems. The thrill is in the challenge. And when they get into it, they can obsess over a bug in the system that they spend hours on it without  a break.

It’s not a healthy way to approach a problem, but it sure gives you the results you want, especially when it comes to tech support.

16. Resourceful

Geeks know the genuine article for underground data. It’s a piece of the motivation is being on the Internet for a long period of time, perusing and accumulating data.

Got a problem? Give them 5 minutes, and they’d locate 5 different solutions for you. If it has to with their prime obsession, they’d probably give you 10 off the top fo their heads!

17. Single & Available

The sad news for geeks is that they are not famous in the dating world, but the great news is that there are so many of them out there. And it’s not that they are not lovable. Most of the time, they simply don’t have sufficient energy or the certainty to strive for young ladies they like.

If you are approached by one, and you brush them off just because they are a geek, you’re going to miss out.

18. Successful

Bill Gates, one of the richest, most successful and powerful technopreneurs in the world was a geek who changed the world through the Microsoft Corporation. If a successful partner is what you’re looking for, most geeks would make the cut.

19. Sweet & Sensitive

Years of judgments, intimidation and exclusion by their peers for been different have turned the geeks into either angry adults or sensitive beings. If you’ve met the latter, you’re in luck.

These geeks are more sensitive than your average Joe because they know what it’s like to have a hard day. They’re more than willing to listen to your rants and do sweet things for you to cheer you up after a terrible day at work.

Sticking around with a geek will definitely open up your mind but only if you share the same passion for the same things.

20. Willing To Give In

One reason why geeks are sweet and sensitive is that they know when and how to give in to their partners. When you have a bad day and just want to complain to someone about everything that goes wrong in life, they’re here to listen to you.

And even if you happen to be blaming them for the cause of everything gone wrong, they’d give in than risk raising an argument, just to make you feel better.

Conclusion:

In the event that you do choose to impart your life to a geek, be arranged to truly humor yourself into his energy, whatever that enthusiasm may be.

Why is the assumption that a geek is a guy? I got offended… I’m a geek, and a woman.

No dear, you’re not getting laid because you don’t value women as people. Using the term friend zone shows that you don’t respect women at all. Friendship is not worthless and women have the right to not find you attractive. If you act like a petulant child at being offered friendship then you are not a nice person at all. You are a creep and were only pretending to be nice to get into someone’s pants. You fail to understand that some of the best relationships develop from true friendships. That’s never going to happen for you though because friendship is the lame consolation prize when you were aiming for s**.

Oh and btw I am CCIE dude with Linux programming/hacking etc etc. So I can count myself as a nerd but I dont. because I do clubbing, socializing, going out and having fun with people. (and I go out of my comfort zone sometimes).

Geek is as Geek does March 22, 2015 - 5:18 am

You are no geek. You do not have a CCIE, I doubt you possess more than rudimentary skills with Linux or “hacking”.

If you are a CCIE. What’s your CCIE number?

Sorry I have to disagree with this. I am working in high tech industry with super nerds/geeks and I don’t see them to be adaptable or able to learn some simple social skills. Yes they acquire skills faster than others in tech stuff.

They are very friendly and loving yes, but it’s really difficult for anyone to live with socially awkward person.

If geeks are really smart then they should learn how to speak/body language/socialize and understand others (it might need some practice from their part though, but they prefer to stay in their comfort zone).

It’s obvious that you are not a Geek 🙂 Geeks just can’t understand why it’s so important to have these social skills. We live without them and we are fine. Social skills = non-direct way how to communicate -> it’s delaying -> it’s counterproductive -> why should I learn counterproductive stuffs? We says what we think in the most direct way according reason #11 in article. But I understand why it’s so baffling for non-geek person 😉
@AMIR We’re called ‘Geek’ because we’re proud that we’re Geeks. We like that we’re different.

P.S.: sorry for my English grammar I’m from Czech Republic 😉
